Embryo Creative’s video series for Amherst college engaged alumni, made a case for giving, and wonn a CASE award for best online fundraising.

Background

The Amherst Annual Fund needed a way to engage alumni online and make a case for giving.

Purpose

Embryo worked with the Fund to produce a series of videos that highlight the six core areas of alumni support: Academics, Arts, Athletics, Financial Aid, Student Life, Sustainability.

Development

We created an intimate portrait of campus life that was fluid, engaging, and eschewed tropes of academic videos (talking heads, static shots of buildings). The production required 26 different setups in 15 locations over just two days of filming.

Response

The videos were distributed on social media and through email during a fiscal year-end giving campaign. In March 2018, the series was honored with a gold CASE award for best use of video for fundraising.
